Welcome to Sulcata Cutlery, a family-owned knife retailer based in Orange, California.
While Sulcata Cutlery is a new chapter for us, our retail experience goes back to 2021, when we opened KC Tactical. Today, we continue to operate a real brick-and-mortar showroom at 1920 N Tustin St, Orange, CA, where customers can see and handle our knives in person before making a purchase.
Our Story
Kyle and Cindy started KC Tactical, a firearm and knives retail business in 2021 with a simple goal: provide quality products while offering the kind of personal customer service that we would want ourselves.
Over the years, knives became an increasingly important part of our business—and something we became genuinely passionate about.
We fell in love with the details that make a great knife special: premium materials, blade steels, thoughtful designs, smooth action, excellent fit and finish, and the craftsmanship behind each piece.
That passion led us to create Sulcata Cutlery, a brand focused specifically on premium knives and everyday carry.
Our experience running a physical retail business continues to shape how we operate Sulcata today.
Why Sulcata?
The name Sulcata comes from our family sulcata tortoise, Shelly.
We wanted our brand to have a name with a personal story behind it—something that represented our family rather than simply being another generic knife company name.
Sulcata Cutlery is still a family business at heart, and that personal connection is something we intend to carry forward as we grow.

Our selection includes makers and brands such as Pro-Tech, Chaves, Microtech, Heretic, and others known for quality, craftsmanship, innovation, and distinctive design.
We're continually searching for interesting knives, new releases, limited and exclusive pieces, and brands that deserve a place in your collection.
Rather than simply trying to carry everything, we'd rather build a carefully selected collection of knives that we're proud to offer.
